In DRUM ROOM, a-nine-and-a-half second ambient loop resonates through five cymbals and a bass drum for the entire duration of the exhibition period. The sound passing through each object has been sculpted to exploit its particular resonant characteristics. Over time, due to a combination of phasing, repetition and the nature of auditory perception, the listener becomes an active part of the compositional unfolding of the work.
